Preparation
Preparation of tert-butyl magnesium chloride: Use sandpaper to remove the oxide film on the surface of the magnesium strip and cut it into fine chips. Weighted 3.6g(0.15 mol) of magnesium chips, added to a four-neck flask equipped with a nitrogen protection device, a stirrer, a reflux condenser and a constant pressure drip funnel (CaCl2 drying tube is installed on the top of the reflux condenser tube), introduced nitrogen into the reaction bottle for about 10 min, removed the air in the four-neck flask, then adjusted the nitrogen flow rate, and continuously introduced extremely small nitrogen into the reaction system. 35 mL of refined tetrahydrofuran is added to the four-neck flask, then 13.9g(0.15 mol) of tert-butyl chloride is weighed, about 3.5g of tert-butyl chloride is added to the four-neck flask first, and the remaining 10.4g of tert-butyl chloride is mixed with 150 mL of refined tetrahydrofuran and then added to a constant pressure separatory funnel. Add a small grain of iodine, slightly hot, a small amount of bubbles are generated, the color of iodine recedes, it is advisable to keep the reaction system slightly boiling after the reaction is initiated, after dropping, stir for 3~4 h, until the magnesium chips disappear completely, showing a gray solution.
